Browsing the two showcase websites
This information concerns the personal websites Sparkling Hammer and Play Furry Foundry, published by Bradley Dykens, in Belgium. Contact: sparklinghammer@gmail.com. It does not cover an application or game.
Simply browsing the presentation pages and published legal documents anonymously sets no cookies and creates no presence data in localStorage, translation cache or synchronisation queue in IndexedDB. These pages load no audience analytics, AdSense advertising or third-party player or media. The browser’s ordinary HTTP cache is separate from this storage and may keep public files to display them more quickly.
Technical flows, login and administration
The showcase websites do not offer public account creation. Native technical flows are distinct from reading them: login and certain error pages, including a non-existent document version, may open an anonymous session and set a session_id cookie. It maintains the session and security protections of the functions concerned, even if the error page contains no form.
- Opening the technical flows concerned anonymously: the cookie expires in the browser after 24 hours.
- Authenticated administration session: a cookie duration of 7 days, separate from anonymous browsing.
This cookie belongs to the visited host, with the path “/”. It uses the attributes HttpOnly (inaccessible to page JavaScript), Secure (sent over HTTPS) and SameSite=Lax. Subsequent use may renew its duration. Native cleanup of server-side session data uses a seven-day threshold, applied when cleanup runs: deletion is not guaranteed when the 24-hour cookie expires. These periods do not describe audience analytics or an advertising profile.
These flows and administration also use native Odoo components. Depending on the functions used, they may set frontend_lang (language: 24 hours in the anonymous technical flows concerned, up to one year in other native flows), tz (time zone, session duration) and, in administration, cids (company selection, up to one year). They may record presence.focus, presence.lastPresence, discuss.upgrade.version or web.lastConnectedUser in localStorage, and use the IndexedDB databases bus_websocket_worker, localization, offline, rpc or webclient_menu. These examples support presence between tabs, translations, synchronisation and the administration interface. Not all of this local storage has a guaranteed automatic expiry; it may remain until the website or browser clears it. It is separate from anonymously reading the presentation pages and published documents described above.
If you have opened the login page, visiting the showcase website in another tab preserves the session already requested during that window, without creating a new identifier or extending it. Authenticated sessions and form responses retain native behaviour; the 24-hour limit describes anonymously opening the technical flows concerned.
Clearing and blocking
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, or block them. Clearing them may end a login session. The showcase pages can still be read without cookies. To remove traces of an older version, also clear the website’s local data and databases; deleting cookies alone does not remove localStorage or IndexedDB. Your browser’s session-restoration behaviour and settings may affect how long they are kept.
Links and future changes
Clicking a link to YouTube, GitHub or another service takes you to that service, which applies its own rules. Continuing to browse is not interpreted as an advertising agreement or a fictitious consent choice.
Before adding advertising or non-essential storage, the information and required choices will need to be updated, with refusal and withdrawal accessible before the processing concerned. The privacy notice describes server processing, email, your rights, service providers and data transfers.
